Some of these chemicals stay in the systems of plants and animals for a long time and might get in the food chain when the affected plants and animals are consumed.

Bioaccumulation of harmful substances in the systems of plants, animals, and humans has the potential to impact their reproductive lives, growth, hinder the function of different organs such as the liver and kidneys, impact the performance of the central nervous systems and body immune systems of human and animals and some have been listed as known carcinogens.

Purchase those products that are naturally degradable or friendly to the environment.

Safe Product Storage – Ensure that harmful products are stored in a safe place, that their containers are not damaged, do not have any leaks to lower the danger of infecting water sources, land, humans, animals, plants, and the environment. Ensure that destructive products like acids are kept in separate areas from other harmful products.

Check products frequently to ensure that there are no leaks and broken covers or bulging sides.

Constantly store products in their initial containers to prevent unintended use.

Ensure that these products are kept in a place where children and animals have no access to them.

Disposal of Products – Disposal of products should always be the last resort. Why? Because there are no safe ways of getting rid of hazardous waste. You can prevent the dilemma of hazardous waste disposal by either selecting naturally degradable products, recycling the product, giving the excess products to friends, neighbors, or family or purchasing smaller volumes of the product.

Although there are laws to manage the handling and use of large amounts of hazardous waste, the existence of laws to manage the normal small quantities created at the household is non-existent. For this reason, the responsibility for the management of hazardous waste falls squarely on the shoulders of the hazardous waste generators.
